I was born in 1980, and grew up with vinyl, later tapes and close to 93 the first cd's were bought by my parents.

At the end of the 80's and begin 90's I heard the first rap songs, from overdubbed tapes from others, I think the first album I heard was Osdorp Posse a dutch group which release their first album on tape.
I found this interesting, something pulled me to this, and though my parents didn't like it, I did at that moment nobody in my family wasn't known to the genre, a bit later I found the early hip hop on MTV, and on the radio, so on started to learn artists and tracks, saw breakdancing new things.
Later in my life always looking for new things brought me into IT, something I love an practice as a job nowadays... my hobby became my work.
When I started playing basketball I entered a new ere for myself, basketball and hip hop, the lifestyle went hand in hand, and soon I learned to know John a.k.a. Versatilo, he was into hip hop and had crazy shit, which I didn't know, I borrowed stuff, overdubbed on tape, and I already had quite some cd's and tapes myself! This is where the real love for hip hop started, and I went back to collecting hip hop, cd, vinyl and tape didn't matter.
I went to school in Zaandam and after school I almost went three to four days to Amsterdam to check out releases in several shops, Rhytm Import, Fat Beats, Dance Tracks, Fame, any shop in Amsterdam I visited and started to learn new people.
Dutch Masters, Hells Kitchen block party, they have left traces in my memories which I will never forget.

I think those were the best days of my life, no complicated things, live the thing, don't worry about anything, play b-ball and enjoy life.

Have seen a lot of artists, Jeru, Wu-Tang, De La Soul, The Roots, Redman, DITC and many many more.

After some changes in life, hip hop got to a low burner, other hobbies as well, but always kept listening, the digitall era came around, shops closed, hip hop changed and I was missing the raw 90's golden era.

Now fast forward I'm completely back into hip hop, the 90's boombap, and loving every bit of it again, there are more crazy people like me and this is also the moment to give something back!

I had this project marinating for a while, and while listening and buying vinyl and making beats, I wanted to start a new project, a new website where you can find, releases and dates, links to them where to buy, make reviews, make a nice list of shops and labels, heavy rotation what have I listened to last week! Events in shops, popup stores etc.

This is the time to release my website, I run this by myself, off course I will sometimes miss some release, but I will try to keep up like I already do now, and fill everything.

If you want to contribute, hit me up on social media ( reviews are always welcome, but any tip or news item can be added if I think it makes sense on this website ).

Peace and have fun, keep respecting each other!
